I bet you've heard of the phrase,
"NO PAIN NO GAIN"
but now, it has just been reinvented.
its now called
"NO PAINT NO GAME"
Why do I say it has been reinvented, its because, recently I just had my first taste of paintball. And I must say, its a really fun thing. And if I had enough money, you can bet I'm playing it on and off, eventhough there is much pain inflicted with the impact of the pallets..
Eric asked me out to join him in a match of paintball war with his cousins and some friends. And I decided to tag along, I have seen and heard of this game play for a long time and always wanted to play but never got the chance. So when the opportunity is here, I just grabbed it. Like they say, opportunity knocks but once. Hahaha, I know its kinda inappropriate to use it here... but anyway...
So since the things was all arranged, I just needed was money. :D and off I'm in the battle field..
Was briefed with the safety features on the marker(the gun) and now to reload and stuff, the basics and the -MASK ON- rule.

The MASK!
We played at the Indian Society, Penang. Although the terrain was kinda artificial, but it was still loads of fun.
5,second warning. 5,4,3,2,1, game on....
and the team mates start running around the field, gun shots fired. Shouts of enemy spotted were scattered all over. BANG BANG BANG....
that was how the game play was.
Once you're hit by a pallet, Direct hit, you are out of the game.
Come back when the next match starts...
For the first round, I "died" super fast. And I used up the least pallets, pathetic right?? But they were all experienced players...
In the second matched, I and one other team mate was left to go onto the last enemy of the team. Bang, an ambush the enemy was down, but the Marshall didnt see, nor was there a paint check. And she told my teammate to betray and start shooting me. I was shocked for a moment, shots were fired from both sides. I shouted, Own man, Own Man. But it was in vain. I started firing back. But shit they were moving in closer.
While I was busy shooting my own team-mate, Wey Yee(the enemy) snuck up from the side, with a close distance shot, I was done for. OMG, it was the first major hit I got. It was the worst of what the others got on that day. liek they say, the pain in for 3 minutes, the bruise is for 3 weeks and the memory of the pain is for 3 years! hahaha..

This is the bruise under my armpit... it is still there after a month, going to get laser
Next match, 8 of us was on to 3 people from the Penang paintball team. In a flash, we were down and none of them was. They were superb players, able to fire 12 shouts in a row...
Match after match...
the day ended when we finished all our pallets...
and with injuries here and there....
it was FUN!
ps: looking for people to join me

It was on the 7th and 8th of June, I was there on both days. It was Ichibanzai '08, the first actual anime convention I've been to.
I must say, even though I'm not a anime or manga fanatic, I really had fun, especially cosplaying on the second day of the convention. I came only as an invite and support because one of my friend, Justin Chee, was the chairman of the convention. And to add some spice to it, a lot of my other friends was there too. And I even met new people... WEEE
ok, not only were there mini booths that sell anything related to manga or anime, there was Real Life Role Playing Game(RPG), Food, Gaming competitions, Wasabi Competition, Anime song Kareoke, cosplaying and so much more...
There is so much to say since it was a few hours in total I was there, so here... I'll upload some photos up, let the photos speak for itself... I do have heaps more in my facebook albums...

Yet again, the results was rather predictable.
We knew it, they knew it, but yet we were to be humble and not be overconfident.
Although it turned out as predicted, it didnt come without hardship and determination.
Being part of the team and its legacy and also joining the training, pushing each other makes it all worthwhile...
Not long ago, on the first day of
SUKMA,
PENANG yet again created history by showing it prowess in the local scene for
KARATE. PENANG triump in the
KATA, sweeping all medals for both individual and team. Its again a great feat. Although only 5(1 coming from
KUMITE) out of the 6 medals contended on the first day, it was really a great achievement. This winning was also marking the
FIRST gold medal that was given out in the whole meet(including other sports), and the medal went to
PENANG!
We will, and we must continue training hard and maintain our supreme on the top of the KARATE local scene..
PENANG BOLEH, GOSHI-RYU BOLEH!
